Capacity Crowd Kicks Off 2025 MSCT Khanacross Series
/Saturday 22 February saw a capacity field of competitors gathered on a blistering day at MSCT KhanaPark, Symmons Plains Raceway, for the first round of the 2025 MSCT Khanacross Series..
It was fabulous to see our seasoned competitors return for another year of racing. At the pointy end of the field, regulars Lyndon Kettle (1st), Matthew Von Bertouch (2nd), and Craig Hardstaff (3rd) battled for the outright title of the day, with only 1.5 seconds separating 1st from 3rd place. In the Junior AWD Class, Makkai Kettle took the win, closely followed by Maklyn Midgley (2nd) and James Gaunt (3rd). In the Junior 2WD Class, Lucas Marshall triumphed over his older brother Jonathon (3rd), with Chad Edwards taking 2nd place. Jenna Brozek won the Ladies Outright with Jo Woolley (2nd) hot on her heels. In the Ladies 2WD Class, Belinda Brock took the win with Adine Whicombe in 2nd place and Laura Hayes in 3rd.
A number of new competitors were welcomed to their first Khanacross event, and there was a massive field of 16 juniors. The day's highlight was Clerk of Course Damian Midgley's Super Lap—a race against the clock that took competitors for a quick spin around the North and South tracks. There was fierce competition among some of the more experienced drivers to see who could make the highest jump when traversing between the South and North tracks.
